Janice Irby

CADC Counselor

Janice’s primary role at LifeHouse Behavioral Health is to assist clients with developing and maintaining individualized treatment plans based on their unique circumstances and personal goals. She and her clients meet periodically to discuss their progress in meeting their goals. Together they review the client’s successes, challenges, barriers, and other relevant issues. Janice is also knowledgeable about the wide range of services available within Cook County and makes appropriate referrals to outside agencies based on the client’s needs and personal desires. At times, she may be required to provide crisis intervention services. She also educates her clients about substance use disorders and their effects on one’s social, psychological, emotional and physical well-being. Janice has spent 24 years in the recovery field and maintains a CADC and CODP I license. She did not plan to work in recovery but early in her career, she discovered that she had a talent for listening to people and getting them to open up about their struggles. Janice is inspired by the progress she sees her clients making through their treatment plans and in their loves. She loves to give people hope and she strongly believes that she gets as much as she gives in her interactions with her clients.
